A lot of times, the issue with a great number of artist in Nigeria and Africa, is the fact that a lot of them make music in the direction that can only enjoy patronage from local markets, lacking the content to compete and sell at the global market level but the stunning and sexy singer’s music is a proof to the new face of contemporary music from Africa with a global market appeal.

ABOUT ZINNY
An origin of Anambra State in Nigeria, Zinny was born Obianuju Ezinne Mojekwu on the 24th of January the year 1987. Zinny was born in Kaduna State as the second and only girl child from a family of three. Her only female child status, earned her a lot of affection and attention from her parent and two brothers. She simply describes growing up as a very good experience. Under a mom that is a successful educationist, Zinny went through the early stages of her education in Kaduna before proceeding to Federal University Of Technology Minna where she studied and earned a Btech in biology science.

Bringing a new original and universal style to the table, usually comes with a lot of obstacles and challenges but Zinny had her mind made up and stood her ground in the face of delays. With music buried deep in her DNA, Zinny’s first attraction to music came watching her Aunt and a friend play an instrument and she was lost, watching them perform in their band.
Zinny started singing from an early age, in the girl’s brigade and children’s section in church then she was the lead singer for about 4-5 years in a teenage singing group known as “voices” soon enough, Zinny took a step forward performing at friend’s birthdays in school and on school graduation days. Her passion for music, took her through a series of trials and trying times that she now sees as major factors responsible for the development and growth of her music. Watching Zinny, you would almost think music is the easiest art I mean, she does not strive to impress, her music just flows out naturally, captivating the audience completely.

The well seasoned singer is a versatile artist; she majors in Pop, R&B and Soft rock. Having worked with some of the key industry players, she is set to drop her first official single, a song she features the “Bad Mama” star Spotlyt. The song is set to drop soon and there is already a high demand build up for the track.
Zinny inspired by sounds. Whenever she hears a sound, it builds pictures and stories that help her in writing her songs. She also draws inspiration from the likes of Brandy, Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, Tuface, JesseJagz, MI, Rihana, Treysongz and Ed Sheeran.
Through the shadows and the struggles, Zinny is finally here to bring a magical touch to the industry.
