Some Ghanaian entertainers have been nominated for the 2012 Nigerian Entertainment Award (NEA), which is scheduled to take place at a grand red carpet ceremony in New York from August 31 to September 2.
The beautiful Yvonne Okoro, Juliet Ibrahim and Ama K. Abebrese face off in the Pan African Actress category alongside Kudzai Sevenzo, Jokate Mwegelo and Millicent Mahheido.
Majid Michel, Van Vicker, Chris Attoh and John Dumelo also made into the Pan African Actor category alongside Kevin Ndege Mamboleo and Edward Kagutuzi, while Sarkodie was the only Ghanaian musician nominated for the Pan African Artiste of the Year.
Nominees for the 2012 Nigerian Entertainment Awards were officially announced at a nominee’s gala event at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos recently. The event is the official kick-off to the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, currently in its 7th year and held annually in New York City. The awards are based entirely on fan votes, and so fans are encouraged to vote online and via SMS.
Online voting begins on August 1, while fans in Nigeria can vote via SMS by texting ‘NEA’, award category number and nominee name to 32051.
