A Harare man got the shock of his life when he allegedly found his wife cuddling with a senior citizen and church mate in Kuwadzana on Tuesday night.
Goliath Kagona who claimed that he was coming from Kadoma, was at loss for words when he allegedly found his wife of 10 years in the arms of widowed Ivan Kohlo, before resorting to destroying windows at the house.
“I told her that I was going to Kadoma for work and that I will not be coming back that day. Since I heard some rumours about her and the man I decided to trap them. When I returned, I saw her getting into the old man’s yard at around 10pm. I peeped through the window, waiting patiently and saw them sitting facing each other with the elder’s hands on my wife’s skirt and they started hugging,” he said.
He added that the senior citizen pulled a sledge hammer and an axe attempting to attack him before he escaped and retaliated with stones, destroying windows.
“We have been married since 2002 and have been having squabbles which led to a separation. Three days ago she was at my mother’s place begging to come and stay with her and I told her that I will be going to Kadoma first,” he said.
Kohlo said he was a church mate to the woman in question and that he is the landlord to the woman’s sister-in-law.
“This is actually shocking, someone accusing me of cheating with his wife. The woman was here in the company of her sister-in-law who is my tenant and her brothers. I was repairing the door to her room and they all left. At around 10pm, I heard a knock on my gate and I opened if for him since we have an open door policy at our church. He came inside my house, holding a bottle of beer and I called the sister-in-law. He then started accusing me of snatching his wife and went on to smash my computer to the ground and I pulled a weapon for self defence. He then went outside and started throwing stones, destroying all the windows,” he said.
He added that he was a widower and only got to know the couple’s problems at the police station after he had reported the matter.
Meanwhile, Precious denied the allegations saying she was actually dating a better man not the old man.
“Goliath is crazy, (anopenga, pfunga dzake dzinorwara). I cannot be dating that old man. He will be hurt to see my new boyfriend who has been looking after his kids since 2009. We separated in 2009 and now he is claiming to be my husband. Akaona boyfriend yangu anotsva moyo kwete mudhara uyu,” she said.
She added that Goliath should have been man enough to confront her not to attack the old man.
“Kana akaona ndichibatana-batana na baba vacho dai akandibvunza pane kunetsana navo (if he really saw me cuddling with the man then he should have confronted me and not the old man),” she said.
