Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, on Tuesday morning, Us Weekly reports. Born a healthy 9 lbs. 13 ounces, Maxwell is the first child for Simpson and her fiancé, Eric Johnson.
“Mother and baby are doing just fine,” a source told Us. The source also said Maxwell’s middle name, Drew, is the maiden name of Simpson’s maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson.
Simpson and Johnson, a former NFL player, were engaged in November 2010 after dating for just six months. The couple have yet to set a date for their wedding, but as Simpson said on Jimmy Kimmel Live in March, Johnson “feels like my husband already.”
Back in December, the pop singer and Fashion Star mentor spoke to Us about her pregnancy, saying the best part was “just knowing that [Eric] and I created something inside of me is so crazy to think about. We love each other so much, and knowing that I love this baby inside of me is so amazing.”
