Sunday Tribune gathered that the diseased, who was identified as Emmanuel, was killed when a students’ compound in Zarumai area of the state capital, was attacked around 3a.m on Saturday by the assailants who had since disappeared.
Further checks revealed that Emmanuel, said to be an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was killed when he attempted to rescue a neighbor who allegedly sent a distress call for help.
An eye witness told Sunday Tribune that the gun wielding gangsters left shortly after killing the student without taking anything in the house.
“We hard a gun shot and the voice of Emmanuel pleading with the attackers.
“He called for our help but we didn’t go for his rescue because we were afraid,” informed the anonymous witness.
