Bauchi -This seems to tough times for security agents in Bauchi as two policemen were shot dead by unknown Gunmen.
Vanguard gathered that the two policemen were reported to have been attacked in the morning during a patrol close to a police check point in Gubi village along Ningi/ Kano road in the state.
An eye witness who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity said the police men who were shot at the head, did not die on the spot, but later died at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching hospital where they were rushed for treatment.
“I saw the two police men when they brought them to ATBUT, their heads were battered and they later died at the hospital”. Eye witness said.
The commissioner of police Bauchi state command Mr. Muhammad Ladan confirmed the incident saying the two policemen were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital [ATBUTH] Bauchi where they died.
Ladan said that the matter is currently being investigated with a view to unravel the culprits and urged the general public to complement the effort of the security agencies by reporting any suspicious movements.
Vanguard reports that a team of well-armed police personnels have barricaded the attacked patrol centre to intensify security.
It also gathered that the incident happened barely two weeks when two police inspectors and a corporal were killed at another patrol post along Gombe road in the state capital.
In another development, three civilians at Unguwar Karofi in the Bauchi metropolis were also murdered in cold blood on yesterday night when ‘SARA SUKA’ (political thugs ) raided the place.
