The immediate-past Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Akwa Ibom State, Oyong Asuquo, died in a motor which occurred along the Oruko-Okobo road on Saturday.

According to an aide of the former commissioner, who requested anonymity, Asuquo was returning to Uyo from a night-long meeting in Oron, ahead of Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship primary election when the accident occurred.

“He (Asuquo) actually died at about 9.15 a.m.,” Osakwe said.
