35 die in religious clashes in Jos Nigeria

The death toll in sectarian clashes in central Nigeria has increased to 35. On Thursday night a group of Muslim teenagers from the city Tafava-Balewa quarreled with the owner of a gambling hall, a Christian, and set fire to a pool table.

The incident marked the beginning of mass clashes between representatives of the two confessions, as a result of which some 50 houses and five were set ablaze in the city.
